A Maintenance Assistant oversees the facilities and grounds of camp on a daily basis in partnership and under the supervision of the Facility Director.
Duties
- Maintain the safety of facilities, campers, and staff.
- Assist in the cleaning, maintenance, and inspection of equipment and facilities.
- Be willing to assist with kitchen and housekeeping department duties.
- Accept other assignments as needed to provide for the effective operation of camp activities.
Qualifications
- Minimum age: 18 years
- Have documented experience in facility maintenance, or demonstrate ability to learn.
- Ability to relate well to others.
- Ability to accept guidance and supervision.
- Able to demonstrate enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, self-control, maturity, responsibility, sound judgment, and good decision-making skills.
- Be of good character, and in sympathy with the goals and objectives of the camp.
- Complete pre-camp orientation, unless other arrangements are made with Facility Director.
- Be cleared through any federal background checks.
Essential Functions
- Must be in good physical health, and possess good strength and endurance.
- Must be able to identify and respond to emergency situations.
- Must be able to work with people of different ages and skill levels.
- Must be able to move equipment and supplies.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: Up to $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
