Position Summary:
The Teen Group Leader is responsible for supervising and engaging youth (ages 12–18) during field trips, special events, and regular teen programming at the YMCA. This role supports the personal development, safety, and well-being of all participants while fostering a fun, inclusive, and respectful environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, supervise, and ensure the safety of teens during off-site excursions and onsite activities.
- Serve as a positive role model, promoting YMCA values of respect, responsibility, honesty, and caring.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with teens, families, and coworkers.
- Ensure adherence to YMCA policies and procedures, including behavior management and emergency protocols.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians about program logistics and participant progress.
Qualifications:
- Minimum age of 18 (25 for bus drivers).
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college in education, youth development, or related field preferred.
- Previous experience working with teens in a camp, school, or recreational setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain in first 30 days).
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
