Summary:
Under general direction combines deep technical and analytics skills with a sound understanding of how to deliver interface solutions to support and streamline critical clinical, financial and operational processes. Responsible for design, development, implementation, and support of strategic architectures of healthcare interfaces at all levels of the enterprise.
Responsibilities:
Leverages a broad understanding of the organization’s technical and interface environment to design, develop, test, and deploy interface solutions that meet the needs of the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC) and our tribal health partners across the state of Alaska.
Provides technical leadership and frequently serves as the primary lead on multi-disciplinary efforts that involve developing new interfaces and/or enhancing existing interfaces.
Gathers, analyzes, and documents business, clinical, or regulatory requirements from stakeholders.
Develops, builds, and tests HL7 interfaces and associated interface security using technologies such as SSL, Public-Key encryption, and Certificates or other emerging security technologies.
Creates deliverables to automate key processes to support health care delivery.
Leads integration of software components, subsystems, facilities and services into the existing technical environment; assesses impact on other systems, and works as part of a team to ensure positive impact.
Produces or participates in documentation for end-user training and peer knowledge transfer.
Contributes to the development of standards, design and implementation of proactive processes to support and maintain a healthy interface environment with minimal downtime.
Adheres to and champions the use of ANTHC design principles and documentation standards.
Manages time effectively to meet project goals and timelines with competing priorities.
Works with team to track and monitor the entire interface portfolio; Provides mentoring and guidance to more junior level team members in interface technology, standards, and best practices.
Provides on call and after hours support coverage to maintain the production systems on a rotating basis.
Performs other duties as assigned.

· Knowledge of HL7 standards.
· Knowledge of Openlink Interface Engine or other Interface Engine (Cloverleaf, CorePoint).
· Knowledge of project management.

MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATION
A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Technology, Statistics, Analytics or business-related related field. Progressively responsible professional work-related experience as a Programmer/Analyst, interface developer, comparable education, or training may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for college education.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION
Non-supervisory – Seven (7) years professional work in software development, computer programming, or related area.
PREFERRED EDUCATION QUALIFICATION
· Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Technology, or related field.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION
· Two years working within a general healthcare environment.
· Experience building hospital interfaces to and from the Cerner Millennium electronic health record.
PREFERRED CERTIFICATION QUALIFICATION
Two or more certifications from the following list:
· HL7 V2.X
· HL7 FHIR
· HL7 CCD
