Summary
As a Parent Educator at Bannock Youth Foundation, you will play a vital role in supporting families by providing education, resources, and guidance. This position is essential for enhancing family dynamics and ensuring children receive the support they need to thrive.
Responsibilities
- Provide culturally sensitive interventions and screenings, mainly in the home setting, with families enrolled in the Parents as Teachers model, targeting pregnant women, infants, and children to 5 years
- Utilizing established curriculum, maintain and organize learning materials ensuring age and developmentally appropriate resources are provided for intervention and enrichment opportunities.
- Administer and score various assessments of children and families
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of client interactions and compile data for reports
- Assist families in accessing community resources and services
- Participate in community outreach events and reach out to local businesses and organizations promoting the PAT program
- Participate in continuous quality improvement including training, improvement meetings, and professional development.
- Facilitate and organize group sessions with the goal of connecting families to community resources and support.
Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, social work, family development, or a related field
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.
- Ability to establish rapport with families and empower them by building on their strengths
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
- Computer skills including online research, email, internet, and word processing
- Must have a valid Idaho driver's license
- Must pass a background check prior to employment
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is required
