Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual with both group fitness and personal training experience, as well as administrative experience, to lead our Orange team in promoting health and wellness within our community. The ideal candidate will help cover the front desk while also overseeing our Prescribe the Y program at every level. This role requires a passion for fitness, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to drive membership growth through effective sales strategies.
Duties
- Conduct engaging group fitness classes that cater to various skill levels, ensuring a positive and inclusive environment.
- Provide one-on-one personal training sessions, assessing individual client needs and creating tailored workout plans for Y members, and prescribing the Y participants
- Educate clients on proper exercise techniques, body mechanics, and safety protocols to prevent injuries.
- Develop and implement fitness programs that align with the latest trends in health and wellness.
- Maintain knowledge of physiology, nutrition, and overall wellness to provide comprehensive guidance to clients.
- Promote fitness services through effective sales techniques and foster strong relationships with clients to encourage retention.
- Collaborate with other fitness professionals to enhance program offerings and improve client experiences.
- Stay updated on industry trends, certifications, and best practices in fitness instruction.
- Conduct outreach calls and schedule meetings with new and partner organizations to build our Prescribe the Y program.
- Greet and assist guests upon arrival, providing exceptional customer support.
- Manage front desk operations, including answering phone calls and responding to inquiries with professionalism.
- Handle administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and correspondence.
- Ensure the front desk area is tidy and organized at all times.
- Collaborate with other team members to enhance overall office efficiency.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of physiology, body mechanics, and exercise science principles.
- Experience in teaching physical education or coaching sports is highly desirable.
- Proven skills in program design for diverse populations, including group fitness classes and personal training sessions.
- Background in fitness sales or related experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire clients effectively.
- Certification from a recognized organization in personal training or group fitness instruction is preferred.
- A passion for health and wellness with a commitment to ongoing professional development in the fitness industry.
- Proficient in office management with experience as a clerk or personal assistant.
- Strong computer literacy, including familiarity with Google Suite applications.
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.
- Ability to manage calendars effectively and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Experience in customer support, demonstrating a commitment to client satisfaction.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.50 - $20.00 per hour
