We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Augusta, Georgia, on a long-term contract basis. Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the preparation of fiscal year-end audits, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Oversee all aspects of fund accounting, including philanthropic funding and grant management.
- Supervise and support accounting managers, including those responsible for real estate and gift activity processing.
- Manage the financial tasks related to lease agreements and tax-exempt bond accounting.
- Utilize Blackbaud and QuickBooks to maintain accurate accounting records and streamline processes.
- Coordinate administrative tasks, such as calendar management and audit deadlines, to ensure operational efficiency.
- Support the successful completion of financial projects, including real estate LLC accounting and record conversions.
- Analyze budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure alignment with organizational financial goals.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with nonprofit regulations and best practices.
- Provide guidance on software service agreements and other technology-related financial matters.
- Proven experience in nonprofit fund accounting and foundation grant management.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Blackbaud and QuickBooks.
- Strong knowledge of accounts receivable, auditing, and budget processes.
- Expertise in managing complex financial projects, including real estate and lease agreements.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
- Familiarity with tax-exempt bonds and associated accounting practices.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills to coordinate with diverse teams.
