Y Learning Summer School Aide

*Location - Redford Mi.

*Set schedule M-TH, 11:30a-4:30p, June 30th-August 7th

*Part time

*Paid training will be required

*All inclusive Y Family Membership with full facility access

*Opportunity for advancement

**Y Learning Center opportunities will then become available mid August through mid June providing potential year round employment.

Under the direction and supervision of the Y Learning Program Director, the Y Learning Summer School Camp Counselor will be responsible for:

Assisting, and implementing program activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate, and consistent with YMCA core values for Summer school campers.
Ensure a safe and nurturing environment; attending to the needs of Summer school campers at all times.
Serve as a role model for all youth participating in the Summer school camp program by displaying exemplary behavior at all times and modeling healthy eating and physical activity.
Be welcoming to all Summer school campers, parents, and other staff.
Supervise a group of 6 – 12 children and foster positive relationship opportunities amongst the Summer school campers in your group and within the whole Summer school camp.
Attend all staff meetings, and training and assume equal responsibility for general housekeeping tasks.
Following YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical situations and behavior management, child abuse prevention, and emergencies.
