About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Auditor who knows their way around government and nonprofit audits. If you have a degree in accounting (CPA strongly preferred), a sharp eye for detail, and real-world experience navigating GAS, GASB, and compliance terrain—you’ll thrive here.

You’ll lead complex audit engagements, guide junior staff, and help our clients strengthen their financial integrity and control environments. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping smarter systems, tighter compliance, and cleaner books for organizations that truly matter.

What You’ll Do

Lead and manage audits for government agencies and nonprofit programs, ensuring compliance with GAAP, GAS, GAAS, GASB, and other federal/state/local regulations.
Plan and execute audits of financial statements and internal controls for major government or nonprofit entities.
Develop risk-based audit methodologies, streamlining audit processes and improving efficiency.
Leverage data analytics tools (ACL, IDEA, Etc) to identify discrepancies and improve audit accuracy.
Implement fraud detection techniques that lead to actionable insights and risk reduction.
Collaborate with clients to implement recommendations, improve systems, and reduce accounting errors.
Supervise and mentor a team of auditors, keeping projects on track and quality standards high.

What You Bring

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
CPA license (strongly preferred)
Minimum of 3-6 years of audit experience, with a focus on government and/or nonprofit sectors
Deep familiarity with:
Government Auditing Standards (Yellow Book)
GASB & Fund Accounting principles
Risk assessment and internal control evaluation
Financial reporting and analysis
Strong technical proficiency in Microsoft Office, and audit/data analysis tools (e.g., ACL, IDEA, SAS, Tableau, Power BI)
Proven ability to manage projects and teams under tight deadlines
Excellent communication, documentation, and client-relations skills

Bonus Points For:

Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM)
Experience managing audits of entities with multi-million dollar budgets
Documented success improving audit turnaround time or reducing risk exposure
