Title: Data & Research Support Assistant
Reports To: Senior Data Specialist
Location: Remote
Status: Part-Time (with potential for expansion based on project needs)
Position Summary
The Data & Research Support Assistant is responsible for supporting data quality monitoring, research infrastructure development, and project coordination. This position plays a critical role in ensuring high-quality data management, consistency across projects, and smooth implementation of project-related tasks. The role works under the supervision of the Senior Data Specialist and collaborates with research and program staff across multiple initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Data Quality & Research Support
- Conduct weekly reviews of project datasets to identify missing values, out-of-range responses, and unusual patterns, and provide feedback for resolution under the Senior Data Specialist’s oversight.
- Develop structured data dictionaries (Excel-based) from survey instruments and paper measures, including variable names, field labels, response options, and coding instructions.
- Create and maintain crosswalk tables to map measures across studies and projects, as time permits.
- Conduct literature and measure lookups, including reviewing scoring instructions, coding guides, and validated measures to support new projects.
- Ensure adherence to best practices in confidentiality and human subjects research compliance for all data-related tasks.
Project Coordination
- Assist with scheduling, meeting coordination, and related organizational tasks to support effective project operations.
- Provide administrative support for project documentation and team communication.
- Other tasks as needed
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including creating and managing spreadsheets, using formulas, and organizing data effectively.
- Understanding of basic research data terms with ability to apply these concepts to project work.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to locate and review relevant resources (e.g., articles, measures, or guidelines) using online databases or professional sources.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accurate data handling and confidentiality.
- Ability to coordinate meetings and complete administrative tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct literature and measure lookups using academic and professional resources.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with data management and quality monitoring in research or program evaluation contexts.
- Familiarity with survey measures, scoring guides, and coding practices.
- Experience with human subjects research, including maintaining participant confidentiality.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to team goals.

Compensation
Hourly $20 - $25 per hour commensurate with experience and education.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
