Position Overview
We’re seeking a dynamic, mission-driven Executive Director to lead PCCA into its next chapter of impact and growth. This individual will serve as the organization’s key strategic and operational leader—responsible for advancing our mission, supporting our member community, managing staff and programs, building sustainable funding streams, and fostering relationships across healthcare, policy, and nonprofit sectors.
This role reports directly to the Board President and works in close collaboration with the Board of Directors, staff, committees, and national partners.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Lead the organization with vision, transparency, and integrity in alignment with PCCA’s mission and strategic priorities.
- Partner with the Board of Directors to drive long-term strategic planning, governance, and organizational performance.
- Serve as a thought leader and ambassador for PCCA within healthcare, policy, nonprofit, and philanthropic communities.
Fundraising & Financial Management
- Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy, including individual giving, grants, sponsorships, and partnerships.
- Ensure the financial health and sustainability of the organization through sound fiscal management and budgeting.
- Provide clear, accurate financial reporting to the Board and ensure alignment with strategic goals.
Programs & Member Engagement
- Oversee the development, execution, and evaluation of high-impact member programs and services.
- Expand and support a diverse, engaged member base by leading recruitment and retention efforts.
- Strengthen member communications and value through strategic outreach and thought leadership.
Operations & Staff Management
- Manage day-to-day operations, systems, and internal policies that ensure organizational efficiency and compliance.
- Hire, supervise, and support a high-performing team and volunteer leaders.
- Ensure a positive, inclusive, and mission-aligned organizational culture.
External Relations & Advocacy
- Represent PCCA with media, funders, national partners, and at industry events.
- Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders to enhance PCCA’s national presence and influence.
- Lead communications, marketing, and public engagement strategies.
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in nonprofit management, public health, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of senior leadership experience in a nonprofit, association, or healthcare organization.
- Demonstrated success in fundraising, strategic planning, and board engagement.
- Deep knowledge of nonprofit financials, budgeting, and resource development.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and collaborate with diverse audiences.
- Experience in pediatric healthcare, complex care, or family advocacy is a plus.
- Proven ability to manage remote or distributed teams is a bonus.
