LEAD, DEVELOPMENT
The Development Lead is responsible for supporting the planning and implementation of a diverse development and fundraising program to provide for the short- and long-term needs of the organization. The position will also help facilitate the efficient operation of the organization’s fundraising by assisting with fund tracking, gift stewardship, and some operational tasks.
The Development Lead reports to the Development Director.

Responsibilities
- Provides high-level support and assistance to the Development Director and development activities to support programmatic and operational needs of the organization.
- Drafts letters, memos, reports, and correspondence on behalf of the Development Director, Chief Executive Officer, and/or the Deputy Chief Executive Officer.
- Supports the Development Director and their execution of the annual fund development plan and directed giving campaigns.
- Supports the development of an Annual Report in collaboration with leadership.
- Assists in the coordination of relationships with current and prospective donors, opinion leaders, partners, and industry colleagues, keeping them apprised of significant activities at VYF.
- Coordinates receipt and documentation of in-kind donations.
- Ensures all donations are acknowledged in writing and generates 501(c)(3)-compliant tax receipts for distribution to donors.
- Assists with creation of fundraising assets and resources in coordination with the Development Director.
- Conducts research on potential sources of public and private funding.
- Contributes to the grant-making and proposal development processes, including editing, reviewing, and formatting.
- Participates in the logistical planning and execution of fundraising campaigns and/or events.
- Monitors and tracks fundraising metrics, performance measures, and other programmatic results.
- Ensures accuracy of donation records and other fundraising data within an online donor management system.
- Schedules and coordinates execution of follow-up on all gifts.
- Responds to and resolves administrative inquiries and questions.
- Assists with the preparation and distribution of financial and programmatic reports.
- Maintains assigned elements of virtual filing systems.
- Ensures recency, security, integrity, and confidentiality of data.
- Attends networking events, conferences, and meetings, as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education may vary; a degree in fundraising, philanthropy, nonprofit administration, or public health is preferred, but not required.
- Five to seven years of experience related to fundraising and/or public health is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of public health principles and/or non-profit work is preferred.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Exemplary judgment and keen attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work efficiently within time constraints.
- Superior written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, requiring minimal supervision, and to collaborate and work well in a team environment.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a strong desire to contribute to revenue generation.
- Experience with:
- CRM software and applications, e.g., EveryAction
- Performance and project management software and applications, e.g., Monday.com is preferred but not required
- Proficiency with:
- Microsoft 365 and Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
- Meeting and video conferencing platforms and software, e.g., Zoom
- Passion for the mission and programs of Vaccinate Your Family.

The essential functions of this job include working from a computer for long periods of time to engaging in regular communications with colleagues and external stakeholders via text, audio, and video conferencing and communication platforms. This position requires periodic travel involving overnight trips.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 in addition to a benefits package covering 100% of employee medical, dental, and vision premiums, employer retirement contributions (403b), short- and long-term disability, and generous paid time off, including parental leave.
