Required qualities for successful LPN's:

Current New York State registration and license to practice as a Licensed Professional Nurse or Registered Nurse.
Must be physically able to assist and help staff personnel to lift, turn, move, or transfer residents when necessary, observing proper body mechanics and/or using the mechanical lift when indicated.
The ability to effectively work with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, governmental representatives, and the public.
Demonstrates flexibility, tact, patience, and enthusiasm in working with residents based upon their level of current functioning.
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, to utilize creative problem-solving techniques and to handle problem areas with diplomacy.
Must demonstrate the ability to supervise, manage, evaluate, and teach, as well as the capacity to grasp new theories, structures and principles and apply them appropriately.
