Position Overview

The Pitt County Council on Aging, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, seeks a dedicated Aging Services Director to coordinate and oversee its Aging Services and Injury Prevention Programs. This is a full-time role (30–40 hours/week) focused on expanding service access for older adults, managing resources, and building community partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

Gather and maintain up-to-date information on services and programs available to older adults across Pitt County
Manage the Aging Services budget, including monitoring expenditures and forecasting needs
Generate a variety of programmatic reports for funders and stakeholders
Develop and execute a marketing plan to promote Aging Services & Injury Prevention initiatives
Recruit, train, and supervise staff and volunteers within the Aging Services Department
Liaise with NCDHHS, Division of Aging and Adult Services (DAAS), and other community agencies to ensure seamless service delivery

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in recreation, social work, or a related human-services field
3–4 years of experience in administrative, programming, and management roles serving older adults
Strong knowledge of NCDHHS/DAAS programs, community human-service resources, budgets, and contracts
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Highly organized, with proven ability to manage competing priorities

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $36,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
