The YMCA of Central and Northern Westchester is a charitable, not-for-profit organization serving 66 zip codes in Putnam and Westchester counties. The YMCA of CNW is committed to youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. We are looking for a committed UPK Teacher to complement our qualified workforce of educators.

The UPK Assistant Teacher is responsible for the delivery of a safe and developmentally high-quality UPK educational experience for the children. This is a ten-month, seasonal position.

UPK Assistant Teacher Job Duties:

Assist the UPK Teacher in all daily preschool program activities, including academic enrichment, physical activity, arts & crafts, and more.

Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment for all children while supervising and maintaining licensing regulations.

Be a positive role model for the children in the classroom

Foster the four YMCA character values of respect, responsibility, caring, and honesty within the program participants.

Follow all YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical situations and emergency procedures.

UPK Assistant Teacher Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years of age

Pursuing Bachelor's and or Degree in Early Childhood Education

Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education

Child Development Certificate (CDA) in Preschool

Excellent Customer Service, interpersonal and communications skills

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
