Position Overview
The Human Resources Specialist will lead Paraklet’s people strategy, cultivating a workplace culture rooted in equity, transparency, and collaboration. This role is responsible for designing and implementing HR systems that support talent development, organizational health, and compliance across a growing, globally engaged team. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and empathetic leader who thrives in mission-driven environments and understands the power of inclusive HR practices to drive systemic impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and systems that reflect Paraklet’s values and operational needs
- Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies to attract and support diverse, mission-aligned talent
- Assist in performance management, professional development, and employee engagement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, benefits administration, and workplace safety across jurisdictions
- Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership on organizational design, compensation, and culture-building
- Manage employee relations with discretion, empathy, and a commitment to restorative practices
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 0 – 1year of progressive HR leadership experience, preferably in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations
- Deep understanding of equity-centered HR practices and inclusive organizational development
- Basic knowledge of employment law, benefits, and compliance across U.S. and international contexts
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
- Cross-cultural fluency and global HR experience are highly desirable
